One more update

Today, Lilly had to leave school early to get her shoulder looked at. Everything is fine; but she discovered just how many homeless people are posted out in the open during the day. She looked at the basket in the back seat of my car and told me we need to get more care packages because there’s only 2 left. Three weeks ago, we made a dozen to hand out to people in need. After hearing one woman’s reaction to the gift, Lilly said, “This is amazing. She is so happy.”

After sharing my website updates with her last night, she informed me that I should make a post about our work with the homeless. Jesus said when you give, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing; but she doesn’t want to brag. She wants people to know about this mission so we can make care packages more frequently. While we never give cash to homeless people on the street, we have invested money (with some help from others) in socks and basic hygiene items in addition to resources for addiction help and prayer cards. If you haven’t already, go check out the “mission page” that Lilly wanted me to add. Our blanket drive had mixed reviews; but this seems to really be making them happy. It might be the Lucky Charms cereal bar.
