‘Tis The Season…

36 There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, 37 and then was a widow until she was eighty-four.[e] She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. 38 Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. –Luke 2:36-38

This time of year it can be really easy to become Grinchy. Somebody says the wrong thing to you, work deals you a bad hand of cards, loss of a loved one, whatever it is. In the above story, Anna waited in one place her whole life as a widow for the Messiah to show up. Day and night it says she waited and worshipped. She was only married 7 years before he died. I guess you could say she had a right to bed Grinchy, but she worshipped instead.

It has been a while since I have posted and might continue to be until I post again, but I wanted to take a second to say that this time of year can be very painful for many people. I don’t pretend to know your story, but I do see you. Keep your chin up, and reach out when you need to. God gives us winter so we can appreciate Spring. I appreciate all of you, especially my first responder family across the world. Happy Holidays!! Chris
